All kidding aside, giving your child a healthy introduction to the world of sports will certainly set the tone for her or his interest in it for the rest of their lives. While Tiger was putting on the green at the Tonight Show at the age of three, there are not too many other phenoms like him. The object of participating in a sport is to develop interest and basic skills, not to aspire to a hall of fame or the championship finals. To that end, all children should be allowed to play, and the goals of enjoyment, skill building, and sportsmanship must be paramount early on.

Freshmen beginning college usually have expectations about college life long before actually leaving home. Some students look forward to college, and are eager to experience more freedom and adventure. Other individuals may be enthusiastic about college initially, but then discover that the actual experience falls short of their expectations. They don’t feel happy, comfortable, or secure in their new environment. In addition, there are some students who know that leaving home will be difficult and, therefore, dread the thought of packing and going to college.
